When we originally spoke to Helping hands they expressed concern that their website did not represent the ethos of the organisation. They wanted a website that clearly portrayed what they do and the plight of those that they help.
The founder of the charity was also concerned as they had no login access to their website so they could not update the site as needed. She wanted to fix this and gain full control over their website.
The solution
It was important to convey their message clearly and be able to explain how and why the charity started and the people that it helps. In conjunction with the charity director, we created copy to engage and educate the reader.
We set out to streamline their donation and volunteer application processes through clear messaging and bespoke contact forms. We would also organise new WordPress hosting for the new site where they have full access and control.
Branding
Clare had a clear idea of the colours that she wanted us to use. We selected 2 different shades of pink along with a contrasting black that would be used throughout the website. We also wanted a bold and modern font to be used in the menus and titles, we went with Economica which worked great.
Message
We organised a photographer to join the volunteer team one evening to follow them and take pictures. Mike did a great job of capturing the kindness of the team as they helped those in need on the streets of Birmingham. A picture speaks a thousand words and these images enabled us to clearly portray the message of the organisation within the website.
